Gardner
is on the eastern border of Kansas. Early settlers of
Gardner
were all
Free State
men, which led to one of the first Free State Conventions in the
country being held in Gardner,
KS. One of
Gardner’s attractions is the Gardner
Historical
Museum. The Gardner Historical
Museum provides an extensive history on the settlement of Gardner.
Gardner
holds several festivals and events throughout the year.
The Johnson County Fair is one of the larger events. This eight day
fair includes animal shows, ranging from horses to rabbits, a
carnival, bands, food, and other activities. The
Parks & Recreation Department also has several holiday and special events
each year, and provide competitive and social sports for all ages.
