with the college, Hesston provides a strong K-12 school system and many
activities for various age groups. One
of the main attractions is the Dyck Arboretum of the
Plains. This facility
exhibits wildflowers that can be found all over the state of Kansas. There are also numerous
parks, the Hesston
Golf
Park, the Stone Creek Nursery, and the Giesel Greenhouse.
Hesston hosts a
Homecoming celebration, the first weekend in October, featuring guest speakers,
entertainment and food. Each April, Hesston holds the Emma Creek Classic, a 5k run that
attracts people from all over the state.
