Jewell County is located on the north central border of Kansas.  Two Central National Bank locations are located in Jewell County: one is in Formoso, KS and the other in Mankato, KS.  Both cities are very close to Lovewell State Park & Lake, which provides excellent camping, fishing, boating, and hunting.

The residents of these small rural communities are hard-working, friendly, and very involved with their communities. Jewell County holds several annual events including the Threshing Bee and Antique Engine Show, the Jewell County Fair, the Corn Show, the Farmer’s Market, the Fireman’s Pancake & Sausage Supper, the Formoso Garden Club and the Summer Reading Program put on by the library.  The PRIDE organization also puts together an annual Easter egg hunt, a city wide clean-up, and a semi-annual Adopt-A-Highway program.

Jewell County provides a quality education program for grades K-12, has one airport, the Mankato Public Airport, and is served by the Kyle Railroad.
