Known for its German heritage, Tipton is located in north central Kansas.  Many visitors make sure to stop by the local grocery store to try “Tipton Sausage” a treat for which Tipton is known.  Tipton is also very close to Waconda Lake, which offers hunting lodges, a community owned golf course, and a bike trail.   

On the first Saturday in August, Tipton has their annual Church Picnic.  This is one of their biggest fundraisers for the high school.  The day consists of ball games, children’s rides, and an auction along with other events.  Tipton is also home to three privately funded schools.
