John
H. Wachter joined the Central National Bank Trust and Estate Management
team in November 2004 after a 26-year career as a tax and
estate-planning attorney in Topeka.
He is a former adjunct professor of law at Washburn University and is a
frequent lecturer in the areas of estate, business, and retirement
planning.
He received his B.A. in History from Pittsburg State University in 1970
an M.A. from the University of Missouri- St. Louis in 1973. His legal education includes a J.D. (cum laude) from Washburn
Law and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Missouri- Kansas
City.
In addition to private practice he has served on the Kansas Bar
Association (KBA) Legislative Committee and the Executive Committee
(past president) of the Tax Section of the KBA.
He has testified before various legislative committees on behalf of the
KBA.
He has also served on the Small Law Firms Committee of the Tax Section of
the American Bar Association.
He is currently a member of the Kansas, American, and Topeka Bar
Associations and is a Master in the Hugh Means Inns of Court in
Lawrence.
He is admitted to practice before Kansas, U.S. District, and U.S. Tax
Court.
